A bright, juicy Nero d’Avola with loads of immediate appeal. Red cherry and red currant lead the way, with raspberry, a little clove spice and a subtle savoury herbal edge adding extra interest. The palate is fresh and crunchy, with lively acidity and fine, dusty tannins giving it shape and length. Other notes on the wine also pick up darker plum, tea leaf and spice, which fit nicely with its savoury side.

What I really like is the balance — vibrant red fruit, enough grip to keep it serious, but still incredibly easy to drink. Another cracking alternative variety from Gundagai and a really smart example of how well Nero d’Avola can work in Australia
