A seriously fun McLaren Vale Shiraz with loads of personality. Made with 100% whole-bunch carbonic maceration and a minimal-intervention approach, it’s all about bright fruit, perfume and texture rather than heavy extraction.
The nose is incredibly lifted, with blackberry, strawberry, purple jubes, spice and that unmistakable bubblegum note you get from carbonic maceration. The palate is silky and juicy, with soft, supple tannins that make it dangerously easy to drink.
You can even see the concentration in the way the wine stains the glass and bottle. Made by second-generation winemaker Charlie O’Brien in collaboration with his father Kevin, it’s a great example of a younger generation putting their own stamp on McLaren Vale Shiraz while still respecting where it comes from.
