SC PANNELL MERRIVALE SHIRAZ

A brilliant example of McLaren Vale Shiraz done a little differently, and one that really lets the fruit do the talking.

 S.C. Pannell has created a beautifully pure and elegant Shiraz without the influence of oak, allowing the character of the vineyard to shine through. There’s plenty of dark, juicy fruit here, with rich blackberries, black fruit coulis, cracked pepper, liquorice and delicate violet notes. What I really like is how refined and balanced it is. Rather than being a big, heavy McLaren Vale Shiraz, this is wonderfully medium-bodied, with fine, persistent tannins and a long, savoury finish.

A cracking Shiraz that proves you don't need loads of oak or sheer power to make a seriously impressive wine.
