I tried this with owner and winemaker Murray Barlow from Rustenberg and really loved the freshness and texture of the wine. Made from 20–35 year-old bush vines in Stellenbosch’s Bottelary sub-region, it shows ripe yellow pear, pineapple and crisp apple, with fresh citrus and grapefruit adding lift. There’s lovely texture and weight through the palate, while the finish stays clean, bright and refreshing. A really impressive Chenin Blanc and another wine that showed me just how strong the Rustenberg range is.
