Rite of Devotion is a limited-release rum barrel-aged Belgian quadrupel from Esker Beer Co., inspired by the rich, complex and powerful beers traditionally produced by Belgian Trappist breweries.
Brewed in the Belgian abbey tradition with candied sugar and aged in rum barrels, this substantial quadrupel brings together the deep malt character of a classic Belgian strong dark ale with the additional complexity of barrel maturation.
The style is known for its rich dark-fruit character, caramelised sugar sweetness, warming alcohol and layered malt complexity, while rum barrel ageing introduces another dimension of oak and spirit character.
