One of my all-time favourite Chardonnays, and personally I think Pierro makes Australia’s best Chardonnay. There’s tremendous length and intensity here, with powerful, creamy fruit from full malolactic fermentation, beautifully integrated French oak and a purity that keeps the wine feeling precise rather than heavy.
What really sets Pierro apart for me is how well it drinks at every stage of its life. You can open it on release and enjoy the freshness, power and texture, or cellar it and watch the complexity build over time. There never seems to be an awkward phase.
Rich, seamless and incredibly long, with the oak simply supporting the quality of the fruit. A benchmark Australian Chardonnay and a wine I’m always happy to recommend.
