Named 2026 Shiraz of the Year by the Halliday Wine Companion — and after tasting it, I can see exactly why. Deservingly so. This is an exceptional Australian Shiraz. Made from a single block of 50-year-old vines grown on ancient siltstone and ironstone soils, there’s incredible depth and character here. It’s powerful without being overdone, with beautiful dark fruit, savoury complexity and a structure that just keeps unfolding in the glass. The JC Block has a great story too, named after previous owner Jill Cant and being the first block Stephen worked with on the vineyard during his time as Chief Red Winemaker at Hardy’s. A seriously impressive wine and a worthy winner of Shiraz of the Year. One I’m very happy to have on our shelves.
