I’m really loving what Helen’s Hill are producing at the moment, and the Breachley Block Chardonnay is another great example. Coming from 40-year-old vines, it has plenty of depth, but this release feels especially fresh and precise.
Bright citrus, green apple and white peach lead the way, with a lovely creamy texture through the middle of the palate. The oak is subtle and beautifully integrated, adding complexity without getting in the way of the fruit. Fresh, elegant and beautifully balanced — a Chardonnay with plenty of character, but still incredibly easy to drink.
