White Mischief Grüner Veltliner by Hahndorf Hill is a fantastic take on a classic Austrian grape variety, but with a distinctly New World personality.
What I really enjoy about this wine is how expressive and aromatic it is. Loads of fresh passionfruit, kaffir lime and citrus jump out of the glass, with a subtle coastal character that gives it something a little different.
The palate is bursting with mango, zesty citrus and a lovely grassy edge, all balanced by juicy acidity that keeps everything fresh and lively.
If you haven't tried Grüner Veltliner before, this is a cracking place to start. It's a little more adventurous than the traditional Austrian style, but that's exactly what makes it so enjoyable.
Perfect with fresh seafood, Asian-inspired dishes or simply a glass in the afternoon sunshine. A really interesting, refreshing white that's well worth discovering.
