HAHNDORF HILL GRU GRUNER VELTLINER
Gru Grüner Veltliner is another fantastic wine from the Hahndorf Hill the makers of White Mischief, but this one takes a slightly more classic, savoury approach to the variety.
Where White Mischief is all about those big, expressive tropical aromas, Gru offers a little more complexity and texture, which I really enjoy.
There's a lovely mix of pear, white blossom, candied ginger and a touch of honey on the nose. The palate is packed with citrus peel, grapefruit and spiced apple, with a beautiful savoury edge and a long, lingering finish.
What I really love about Grüner Veltliner is just how versatile it is with food. That combination of bright acidity, subtle spice and savoury complexity makes it an absolute winner alongside seafood, spicy Asian dishes and pretty much anything with fresh herbs.
If you've enjoyed White Mischief, I'd definitely recommend giving Gru a go. It's a great opportunity to explore two different expressions of the same grape variety.
A cracking wine with plenty of personality and another reminder of just how underrated Grüner Veltliner is.
