I’ve always loved Highland whisky, and Glenmorangie in particular, so the 18 Year Old was always going to have plenty of appeal for me. The presentation is absolutely next level, but importantly, what’s inside the bottle more than backs it up. Beautifully smooth and elegant, with layers of honey, ripe stone fruit, citrus and vanilla, followed by toasted nuts, gentle spice and a lovely oak richness from the extended maturation. There’s plenty of complexity, but it never becomes heavy or overly woody — everything feels polished, balanced and unmistakably Glenmorangie. The finish is long, warming and incredibly refined. Even at this price, I think the 18 Year Old represents great value for money when you consider the age, quality and overall presentation. A seriously impressive Highland single malt and one I’m always happy to recommend.
