This would have to be one of the best value Pinot Noirs coming out of Tasmania, and therefore Australia. There’s a level of richness, perfume and polish here that you’d normally expect to pay considerably more for.
Dark cherry, strawberry and a touch of anise lead the way, with some earthy forest floor, dried herb and gentle spice adding plenty of interest. The palate is supple, juicy and beautifully balanced, with silky tannins and impressive depth without becoming heavy.
What really stands out is the quality for the money. It has genuine Tassie Pinot character, plenty of flavour and a long, moreish finish, yet still drinks with real finesse. An excellent value Pinot that seriously overdelivers.
