A cracking Mudgee Vermentino and clearly one of the standouts of the variety in Australia, with a swag of trophies, gold medals and 95-point reviews behind it. Fresh pear, pineapple and citrus jump from the glass, with a bone-dry palate showing lemon pith, nectarine and a subtle savoury aniseed edge. There’s also a lovely mineral, almost tonic-like texture that gives the wine extra character and length. Bright, refreshing and beautifully balanced — a seriously impressive Vermentino that more than lives up to the awards.
