Dalrymple’s Single Site Swansea Pinot Noir is a beautifully plush expression of Tasmania’s east coast and a great example of just how different Tassie Pinot can be depending on site. Fruit from the mature Swansea vineyard overlooking Great Oyster Bay gives this wine a noticeably richer, riper personality. There’s plenty of dark cherry and ripe red berry fruit, layered with sweet spice, earthy complexity and that almost Christmas-cake richness running through the palate. The softer acidity gives it a lovely roundness and makes it incredibly approachable. What I really like is that it doesn’t rely on delicacy alone. There’s genuine depth and generosity here, while still retaining the finesse you want from Pinot Noir. Rich, silky and wonderfully comforting — a Pinot that is drinking beautifully right now.
