Chard Farm’s River Run is exactly what I look for in a classic Central Otago Pinot Noir, generous fruit, plenty of character and enough finesse to keep you coming back.
There’s a lovely mix of dark cherry and bright red berry fruit, with floral notes, spice, a touch of earth and subtle oak adding complexity without taking over. The palate is supple and nicely textured, with juicy acidity keeping everything fresh and fine chalky tannins giving the wine shape and length.
What I really like about this wine is how complete it feels for the money. It has genuine ripe Pinot character, but still remains elegant and balanced. A very polished, easy to enjoy Central Otago Pinot that delivers both richness and finesse.
