Back in February our brew team brewed a big and fiery Russian Imperial Stout which we aged for 6 months in Rum barrels provided by our good friends at Brix Distillers. Then, for added flavour (like it needed any more!) the brewers conditioned the beer on toasted hazelnuts and vanilla beans.
Big roasty notes, licorice and leather with the oak and sweet Rum woven through. Then the toasted hazelnut and vanilla come through in the finish. All this with a slick mouthfeel and a well concealed 11% ABV.Â
