When The Sun Sleeps is a brand new Black IPA that we've plumped up with a beautiful dry hop that consists of Citra, Rakau, Chinook and Idaho 7 HyperBoost™ plus, we dropped in some Galaxy hop flowers for our whirlpool addition. OK now here's the thing about Black IPA - it's all about balance. We're marrying up to styles of Ale that were fine on their own, but sometimes need to be paired together (once every few years at Range). And we think this one balances beautifully. The tricky part is balancing the exceptionally fresh and hoppy notes this beer has, with the indulgent and warming, toasted and chocolate notes it also has. One the nose we first get toasty chocolate malt, before hints of berries, and citrus come popping through.
