Canerock is exactly what I want from a good spiced rum — rich, indulgent and packed with flavour without becoming overly sweet. The nose is immediately inviting, with vanilla, coffee, dark chocolate and coconut giving it an almost dessert-like character. On the palate there’s plenty of caramel and raisin, followed by warming spice, gentle oak and a little allspice. The finish is where it really comes together, with dark cherry, prune and coconut joined by fresh ginger, clove and a touch of mint. Rich, smooth and beautifully spiced, this is a seriously moreish rum that works just as well neat as it does over ice.
