A terrific everyday Italian red that punches well above its weight. Bajo is packed with ripe cherry, plum and blackberry fruit, backed by touches of spice, vanilla and a subtle earthy character. Six months in oak adds a little richness without taking away from the freshness of the fruit. The tannins are soft and approachable, making it smooth, juicy and very easy to drink. A classic Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and exactly the sort of red I love having around for pizza, pasta or a casual barbecue.
